CARRIAGE HORSES
NEWSDAY LETTERS - MAY 16, 2006 The only way to protect carriage horses ["Hansom cabs, hold your horses?," News, May 11] in today's traffic is to keep them out of vehicle traffic, and confining them to Central Park usage will not do it. A horse can be spooked as easily in motorized traffic there as on Fifth Avenue. The only option is to ban wheels from the park's roadways, and that won't happen.
