Re carriage horses in New York City: It is amazing how people can get their fat behinds in a carriage, and expect a horse to pull them, without considering for one moment the welfare of the animal. Other cities have discontinued carriage horses, so why not New York? With its teeming traffic and people , it doesn’t make any sense. I have no desire to visit a place where I have to see this ridiculous spectacle, especially when I now what miserable lives they horses have.
