Carriage Horses Deserve Better Treatment From New York City; Worse in Evening
September 21, 1988
To the Editor:
I'm tired of having an otherwise pleasant evening in the city ruined by
the sight of a poor horse pulling those relics of another time. Tourist
attraction? Quite the opposite! The horses you see in the evening are in
even worse shape than the ones who work days. Not a coincidence, I'm
sure.
Let's keep them all in Central Park. At least that way the few
officials
charged with monitoring the horses can do their jobs.
