Horse-drawn Carriages Letter to Mayor Bloomberg - Tim Trow, president of Toronto Humane Society - January 26, 2006 The following is from the web site of Toronto Humane Society Toronto Humane Society President, Tim Trow, writes to New York City Mayor, Michael R. Bloomberg, urging him to ban the services of horse-drawn carriages in the city. The treatment of the horses, and the conditions and dangers they face in a crowded city centre, brought about changes in Toronto's by-laws which effectively banned the practice of horse-drawn carriages in the city.
