CARRIAGE HORSES

Authorities say seven show horses died after the two barns they were staying in
caught on fire. The horses competed in shows and belonged to David and Shirley Weisinger, who said the fire may have been caused by an electrical problem in one of the barns. Nothing remained of the barns except ashes, bales of hay and charred farm equipment. The couple buried the horses in an area behind where the barns had been. The Weisingers had insurance on the barns and equipment but not the horses. The couple estimated the value of the horses to be around $23,000 dollars. Last August another barn fire killed 27 Tennessee walking horses in DeSoto
County. There was never a conclusive ruling on the cause, but investigators said
